Fresh Texas watermelon
DeSoto, TX · watermelon juice recipe

Easy watermelon juice recipe.

Fresh, naturally sweet watermelon juice in 5 minutes with a blender. No juicer, no added sugar.

Why this works

Watermelon is so juicy you do not need a juicer — a blender does it. A 6-pound watermelon makes about 5 cups of juice. A squeeze of lime brightens it and mint makes it feel fancy.

Use a ripe, sweet melon

The recipe is only as good as the watermelon. Start with a ripe, sweet one — see our guide on how to pick a ripe watermelon, or grab a hand-picked one from our DeSoto stand.

Fresh Watermelon Juice

⏱ 5 min · Makes 4 servings

Ingredients

  • About 6 cups cubed seedless or seeded watermelon (seeds removed)
  • Juice of 1 lime (optional)
  • A few fresh mint leaves (optional)
  • Ice, to serve

Steps

  1. Scoop the watermelon flesh into a blender, removing any seeds.
  2. Blend on high for about 30 seconds until completely smooth.
  3. For smoother juice, pour through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher.
  4. Stir in the lime juice and mint if using. Serve over ice, cold.

Quick answers

Do I need a juicer to make watermelon juice?

No. A blender works perfectly. Blend the watermelon flesh for about 30 seconds, then strain if you want it smooth.

How much juice does one watermelon make?

Roughly 5 cups of juice from a 6-pound watermelon, though it varies with size and ripeness.

Can you make watermelon juice ahead of time?

Yes. Keep it refrigerated and stir before serving, since fresh juice naturally separates as it sits.
